Description: Google Forms allows teachers and students to design and conduct surveys to generate and collect data.

Rationale

Google Forms is a user friendly and intuitive web-based survey creation tool that can be used by students for generating and accessing data needed to complete assigned tasks across the curriculum. It is useful in a primary school context as it is very simple to use and allows multiple students to work on, edit or complete a form at the same time. In a primary school classroom it could be used in Mathematics to design surveys to collect authentic data that can then be analysed and used to create graphs and tables (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, 2014a, ACMSP095). It could also be used in Humanities lessons to collect and sort ideas about proposed actions to combat real world problems such as pollution, consumerism and global warming (Australian Curriculm Assessment and Reporting Authority [ACARA], 2014a, ACHASSI074; ACARA).
