“Use appropriate ICT tools safely to share and exchange information with appropriate known audiences” (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, 2014)
Description: Evernote is a Web 2.0 tool that allows students to create and share documents and notebooks of their learning.
Rationale
When encouraging students to create and not just consume information products using technology, it is vital that teachers ensure students have access to and an understanding of how to use a program to quickly and easily collate, organise and share their learning. Evernote is a useful tool for use in classrooms to teach students how to share and exchange information with their classmates as it allows students to upload images, videos, links, voice notes and documents into personal or shared notebooks to create an authentic record of their learning (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, 2014; Embi and Graham, 2011).
